    Couldn’t be more pleased with this knife. It’s one stout, robust tool. The CPM3V steel is super tough and holds a wicked-sharp, razor edge. My knife came with what appears to be a stainless quillon, not brass. Totally fine with that. The Secure-ex sheath is absolute garbage, does not secure the knife and put scratches all over the nice blade finish. I knew the included sheath would likely be an issue going into the purchase based on other reviews, so I replaced it with a custom leather sheath. I don’t know why, but for the price, you’d think Cold Steel would provide a better sheath. Sheath aside, the knife is excellent. The Recon Scout is a more of a traditional, bowie-style combat/survival knife. If that’s what you’re after, I highly recommend it, but plan to upgrade the sheath.
