If you’re familiar with the Ontario RAT 1, this is almost exactly the same size. Nice big thick blade of 8Cr steel. If you found the RAT 1 grip to be a little too slick, this is much more textured. It also has a lockback instead of the liner lock. RAT has much smoother opening due to its bronze washers and full steel liner. If you’re worried about safety, the Cold Steel Tri-Ad lock is about as robust as they come, and this guy has a sliding safety on top of that that will prevent the blade from closing while you’re using it, but also prevent the blade from accidentally opening in your pocket, if that’s something you worry about happening. (The only other knife I’ve ever owned with something like that was the Kershaw Leek, but I never really used it because I never saw the need.) All in all, this is a very solid knife at a very nice price.
