Roper certainly makes a good knife. If you guys or gals cannot find or afford GEC (great eastern) go with roper. Keep the patina going. Do not rub it off. Most ranchers and farmers don’t like stainless steel. I sharpen my roper once a month. Carbon steel is the best you might get laughed at without one in some ranches. True story, your a lot safer just to show up the ranch with carbon steel knives. Anyway folks roper is second best next to GEC knives. Yawl Enjoy now! don’t need much oil and keep it dry.
