Kid’s Barlow, just what Colonel Coon ordered.

Ordered two of these. Both exhibit rough fit and finish and very weak springs and lots of grit and gunk in the works. I suspect these might be seconds or outright rejects. One of the two, I bought ,has a deep grinder gouge in the side of the pen blade. Both have major gaps,uneven scales and rough finished backsprings. These are known issues with most examples the Bear and Sons Walnut Barlow ( Bear and Sons made the Colonel Coon walnut Barlow) Based on the fairly good fit and finish of the Bear and Sons made Colonel Coon Yellow delrin Barlow, I was hoping that the Walnut version would have similar quality but was very disappointed. Since I got them on Sale I decided to just keep them as users. Perhaps good enough for a kids first knife or tackle box beater just dont expect much else. At least its an American made Barlow for a low price, hard to find these days. But you definitely get less than you pay for….at least I did. Good luck.
