Anyone eyeing this sword should know the scabbard is the newer model with metal throat plate and chape, their picture shows the older all leather scabbard. Just recieved mine, it’s a nice day so I unboxed it and proceeded to do some cutting with it, it cut good enough with the adequate factory edge and also chopped very well, nothing major just 1 inch branches laid on a log and hit with sweet spot, cut very well. The weight and balance is just right, can manage with on hand. The handle is nice and comfortable, the guard and pommel are nicely done, very solid build, really cant see spending more for sword, this has good steel, solid build, looks good and the scabbard is nice and fits snugly and holds sword tight up side down. I have no negatives to say about this sword, but the handle may be too big for smaller hands but very comfortable for medium and large hands. The pommel peening marks of course but nicely done, gap between recasso and guard is minimal, better than most you see.the fuller on both sides of the blade are straight and the sharpened edge is evenly done but can easily be sharpened more if desired.very good sword, I recommend do t need to pay more. This is my 3rd sword from CKWs and all have been better than expected and they are delivered fast, they dont have the best pictures or description, you get that from other sources but you buy from CKWs.

Excellent sword, most swords in this price range have issues, this sword had none, it was sharp enough, nimble enough to use with one hand, the handle is large and comfortable has 5he mlm right amount of stiffness. Really a good sword for the price.
