Spring steel not stainless steel. On this site it was advertised as SS blade but on others 9260 spring steel. So I took the gamble and when received was pleased to find it was not stainless.

Came sharp and ready for us. I refined the edge with a few swipes on a butchers steel. Totally functional and practical for use. Balance is also very good. Also, this site has the best price.
